Our Services

We provide in-home, centre, and community based ABA Services in a one-on-one format or through consultative services with parents/guardians to children and youth, ages 0-18 with or without a diagnosis.

Learn About Our Services

  • Behaviour Essentials Inc. requires all families interested in ABA services to complete an Intake Form. This information will assist in the process of developing an appropriate clinical recommendation specific to your child. This will be completed and reviewed with the Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) and/or Behaviour Clinician. It includes the following:

    Intake Documents

    o Parent and child questionnaire(s)

    o Emergency contact form

    o Confidentiality agreement

    o Payment policy

    o Cancellation policy

    o Service agreement

    Initial Family Meeting

o A meeting with the family, child, Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) and Behaviour Clinician. This will allow BEI to get to know your family and child. Feel free to ask any of your questions during this time as well.

    Clinical Review

o The Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) and Behaviour Clinician will review all the above information and give clinical recommendations for the next steps (i.e., which assessment to use, defining challenging behaviours, etc.).

  • After the initial meeting with the family, the Clinical Supervisor and/or Behaviour Clinician, along with the assistance of a Behaviour Therapist, will conduct an assessment with your child. The assessment can be done in home, in centre or a combination of both. Once the assessment is completed, please allow one week to complete the Treatment Plan. A meeting with the family will be scheduled so the Clinical Supervisor and/or Behaviour Clinician can review the document with the family and they can sign off on it before starting direct therapy sessions.

Behaviour Essentials Inc. also offers behavioural assessments without committing to a service agreement for direct therapy. Once the assessment has been completed, a summary report will be provided to the family that gives an overview of the child’s areas of strengths and needs.

The types of assessments offered are the following:

    • Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills-Revised (ABLLS®-R)

    • Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP)

    • Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)

    • The Essentials for Living (EFL)

    • The Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS)

    • Promoting the Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK)

    • Social Skills Assessments

** Please note that more than one assessment may be used so the team can get a comprehensive overview of your child’s areas of strengths and needs**

  • Behaviour Essentials Inc. utilizes a tiered service delivery model for our direct therapy services. This entails the use of Behaviour Therapists to implement the behaviour support plan that has been developed by the Clinical Supervisor and/or Behaviour Clinician. Behaviour Therapists will be the individuals that will work with your child directly. All interventions/programming is client specific and built around client/family goals. A Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) and/or Behaviour Clinician will provide ongoing supervision (direct and indirect) to ensure that the behaviour support plan is being implemented appropriately. Therapy is offered within our centre, in the child’s home, and/or community locations such as private schools or daycares. Depending on the needs of the family, a mix of both parent coaching and 1:1 with the child can be provided. At the end of a behaviour plan, a summary of services will be provided. At this time, you may choose to terminate services or extend services for another 3 or 6 months. With an extension of services, the ABA team will update a child’s goals through assessment, observation, and discussion with the family and a new behaviour plan will be developed.

** A Behaviour Plan requires a commitment of 3 or 6 months and a minimum of 4 hours per week. **

Fee - $70.00 per hour (for families that do not have Core Clinical Funding)

Fee- $80 per hour (for families that have Core Clinical Funding)

Hourly rate includes: all staff wages, a minimum of 20% supervision (direct and indirect hours) of your child’s total monthly hours from the Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) and/or Behaviour Clinician, individualized program materials, reinforcers, online data collection subscription, consultations/meetings with other professionals on your child’s team (SLP, OT, school etc.), parent meetings and phone calls, etc.

  • Behaviour Essentials Inc. offers parent coaching. This is a focused service where the Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) or Behaviour Clinician will consult directly with parents providing support, coaching, and modeling on one to two specific goals. A behaviour plan will be developed around the identified goals from parents. These goals may include topics such as toileting, reducing problem behaviours, implementing functional communication, improving self help skills, increasing independence, etc. A behavioural assessment may need to be conducted prior to beginning services. Depending on the needs of the family, a mix of both parent coaching and 1:1 with the child will be available. A summary of services will be provided at the end. All coaching packages will be tailored to the family and their child’s needs.

    Fees

    6 Weeks- $800

    8 Weeks- $1000

    12 Weeks- $1500

** Parent coaching packages require a commitment of 6, 8, or 12 weeks, 1 to 2 hours per week (12-24 hours in total) directly working with a BCBA (parent coaching, implementing strategies, modeling, data collection, etc.) or Behaviour Clinician. A Behaviour Therapist may assist at times as well. The majority of the hours are spent coaching parents, however, some 1:1 time may be spent with the client as well. **
