What is Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)?
ABA is a treatment approach that aims to improve the quality of the lives of individuals in a meaningful way by teaching skills. The goal of ABA is to improve socially significant, meaningful behaviour, decrease interfering behaviour that is harmful or has a negative impact on learning and the person’s day-to-day life, and make sure these skills remain with an individual over time, with different people, and in different environments
It uses the science of human behaviour that helps us to understand how behaviour works, how the environment influences behaviour, and how learning takes place.
ABA services are supported by evidence-based research. This means ABA strategies have met criteria, been tested, and proven that they are useful, high quality, and effective.
